Hi there,

I’d like to unlock the postscript region of this page of my site in order to insert a couple of blocks there. What are the steps to do so?

Thanks,

Ifeanyi

Hello Ifeanyi,

The following tutorial in the How-To GuideDelta” will walk you through exposing and configuring the Postscript Regions in your YaleSite.

Josue

Thanks. I completed all the steps, but an error message prevents me from finishing the Delta: “You have chosen to manipulate the region positioning of the Content zone but the summed region width is greater than the number of available columns for that zone.”

Hello Ifeanyi,

This is because the sum of all columns must total 12. If you assign the postscripts and the total is less than or greater than 12 it will fail.

Josue

Thanks. I believe I’ve assigned the right number of columns to the postscripts, but the error message is still showing up.

That’s because you have the Zone listed as Content. It should be Postscript.

Josue

Okay, thanks. For your reference, the Delta tutorial instructs you to list the Zone as Content.

Also, the blocks I’ve tried to place in the postscript region are still not showing up.

Hello Ifeanyi,

The context for your delta was disabled. I also noticed you had selected a theme in the context (Not Necessary). I’ve fixed your Delta and it now shows up on the homepage. I’ve added sample blocks to show it. If you need it to display on a different page other than the homepage, you’d need to change the context to make sure the path is set to the page you want it to show up on.

Josue

Thanks for your quick response. I’d like the Delta to work for this page. How can I change the context? I tried to follow this tutorial, but when I selected “Delta” under “Reaction,” this Delta wasn’t listed.

You would change it under Conditions in the Path section. Change it from <front> to the desired page.

Josue

Okay, that worked, thanks! However, the main content on that page has now shrunk. How can I correct that so that it takes up the full width of the page again? Also, could you change the homepage layout so that the content in the left sidebar returns to the body of the page?

Hello Ifeanyi,

I was able to restore the page by eliminating the sidebar first & second from the delta. Do you need the sidebars on this particular page? (/2015-forum-strategic-impact) If not we can leave them out so that the page works.

Josue

Hi Josue,

Thank you so much! We may need the sidebars in the future, but for now, the page looks great. Thanks again!

Ifeanyi

You’re welcome. If in the future you need the sidebars, I believe you can add one and it will still look ok. Its when you add both that it gets distorted.

Josue

Okay, great, thanks again!

Hi Josue,

I changed the name of the page and redirected the Delta path to it, and the postscript boxes showed up but without the grey backgrounds they had before. Any tips on how to restore them?

Thanks!

Hello Ifeanyi,

That’s because you also need to update the path on CSS Injector. Configuration > Development > CSS Injector.

Josue

Perfect, thanks!
