Dear Yale Sites Support,
I was wondering whether I could implement a widget to my website so people who view our calendar of events, can simply click on the events to let them be exported to their personal agenda. Either to their yale-account on outlook or g-calendar or i-calendar?
Thanks!
Stephanie
Hello Stephanie,
I’ve enabled the Date iCal option to your calendar. This allows people to subscribe to your calendar with their devices including PC’s & Mac. The How-To instructions for setting it up are located here: Exporting Events Using an iCal Feed. I’ve already created one for you and attached it to the upcoming events view.

I tried to export the events to my own calendar and in outlook it makes a separate calendar, instead of implementing the events in my own agenda…. Was this supposed to be happening? Also I don’t find the end time, only the start time….
Will give this another try again tomorrow.
Thanks!
Stephanie
Hello Stephanie,
Yes the calendar is supposed to be a separate calendar in your outlook, iCal, etc. That way you can differentiate the events to know which calendar they are from. As for the date issue. I made some corrections to the view. Try again. It should be all set now.

Dear Josue,
Thanks again. This is clear!
One more question, though…. How could I add some explanation to this small icall logo, like ‘would you like the yqi-calendar shown next to your personal calendar (outlook, google, apple), pleas click on the orange pictogram and follow the instructions.” or something like that? This page is only made for events, so I don’t know how I could add some plain text?
Best,
Stephanie
Unfortunately that button is controlled by the module and there is no way to put text around it. Your only option would be to create a separate text block and place it either above or below the view with the explanation text.
