Webform Layout box

Hi. I’ve created a webform and would like some of the fields to display side-by-side. I’ve activated Webform Layout, which added the “Layout box” field as an option. I created a form component and set the Alignment to Equal Width. Dragging the Layout box into my form, though, doesn’t do anything. Whereas dragging any other field type (such as Textfield) creates a blank field for me to edit, Layout box disappears instantly.

I’ve tried in Firefox 56.0.2 and Safari 11.0 and am using Drupal 7.56.  What am I doing wrong?

Hi John,

It sounds like you may need to adjust the display width of each field so they fit within the given space side-by-side.

Here’s an example:

Click on the WEBFORM tab.

The structure should look something like this.

Click on the edit button of whatever your first field is.

Scroll down to where it says DISPLAY., and the width field is below. In the above example, I set each of the three fields to 30. Save changes.

You may need to  experiment with the character width depending on the number of fields you want to display side-by-side.

If you need further assistance, please give me admin access to the site. NetID cm2363 and send me a note. We can get on a call and I’ll walk you through it. Either way, let me know how it goes.

Kind regards,

Chris Mongillo
