using tokens in content types

please note you need a cas log in for this site

i created a content type (honor roll forum post) where in the staff name field, i am trying to use a token that would auto fill this with the staff’s name.  all people using this content type would have already cas logged in.  is this possible?  or, since this is modeled off a blog post, can i get some of the automatic name data to show up in a view?

i am trying to create a much simpler version of this forum, in essence.  (if that helps)
