U Press - Quizzing Modules
[ Kimberly sent the following email from U Press to Franz, Vincent, and Nancy. They are currently discussing.] Placed in YS Forum for record.
There are two things we need for our sites:
Flashcards – new module
Quiz module – existing approved module, but with errors we can’t control
First, we have found a fantastic Quizlet flashcard API that I think many YaleSites could benefit from.
https://www.drupal.org/project/quizlet
Quizlet (6.x-2.x + 7.x-1.x) for Drupal uses the Quizlet API 2.0 to search and add Quizlet vocabulary and flashcards within your Drupal Site, including an option to provide private vocabulary lists too.
Second, we are having some issues implementing the Quiz module for Drupal that is currently authorized by YaleSites. There are many errors that need to be addressed. Since we understand that we are not the only people looking to use this module, we are hoping we can address this soon.
Thanks for your help!
Best,
Sara

This was resolved through a phone conversation. See notes below:
Thanks very much for the follow-up, Nancy, and for taking some time to talk with me and Sara this morning.
QUIZLET MODULE
Could you please refresh the following sites to include the Quizlet module in their list of available features? Thanks!

QUIZ MODULE
Thank you so much for update the quiz module! Could you please do so for all of the sites listed above, not just for Encounters? And thank you as well for passing along a link to that barebones Drupal site that allows for testing modules. Very helpful. Just so you have these on hand, here are some of our requirements for our Language website quizzes.
1. Fill in the blank questions. That is, paragraphs of content in which each sentence has one or more words missing. The student has to write in the missing word in an input field, and then, after she submits her answers, see whether or not she got it right.
2. Drop-down selections. Very similar to fill in the blank above, except, instead of a missing word and an empty input field, the reader is presented with a dropdown list of 2 or more options. The user selects an option, and then finds out after submission if she got it right or not.
3. Multiple choice, short answer, long answer (all of which seemed to be covered in theory by the current Quiz module, although I’ve found it quite difficult to implement).
Please let me know if you have any questions, and we will certainly reach out to Kimberly if we feel that we need to work with a vendor.
Best,
Tom
