Top Menu - removing a page

Issue/Request:

On the top menu of our page, we have menu item call “System Status”. I’ve unlinked the page from the menu, I thought, be deselecting the “enabled” checkbox under the path attributes. The message says that this will not allow the page to be shown in the menu. Doesn’t seem to work for me as the page is still showing. What I am doing wrong?
