On this site’s Archives page, which contains a table, the mobile view of an iPhone 6S does not render the table cells properly. Thank you for your help!

Hi, Herbert:
I am sorry to say that Tables are not responsive. We do not recommend using them to format pages for that reason.
Best regards,
Carris

Hi Carris,
Thank you for your reply, but this is not accurate. During a YaleSites 2016 training class, Josue showed me how to correct this error. Please pass this support request l to him and ask to advise. Thank you again.

Hi, Herbert:
I checked with Josue, and we both agree that tables are not really made to be responsive, especially with pictures. The pictures have a fixed size assigned to them, so the columns cannot shrink smaller than the picture. Therefore, tables, especially with pictures, are not responsive. We are looking into another way to present your content without a table. The work around that Josue spoke of at training partially works in limited situations. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work in your situation.
Best regards,
Carris

Dear Herbert (Michael) Bailey,
I hope this email finds you well. As mention before I have some suggestions to make the tables more responsive. I created a content type that is called “Archives” and now you have 2 different views. One for “Past Conferences” and another one for “Special Presentations” . I created a block for Past workshops in which you can edit anytime you want ( these are all responsive). The page is saved as a test-page, which has not been publish yet. After you cas the site. You can use this url http://uep.yale.edu/test-page to see the page I created.
I didn’t add the entire content because I would like to know what you think. Once approved by you I can migrate the entire content and publish it. Otherwise we can look at different alternatives or make any changes. I hope this is helpful . Please do not hesitate to ask me any questions. I would be more than happy to help.
Best,

I just wanted to touch base and make sure everything was okay. Have you been able to take a look at the test-page? I would like to know what you think, if you approve we can publish it. Otherwise we can look at different alternatives or make any changes. I hope to hear back from you.
Kind Regards,
