Hello,

I’m creating a site for a faculty member - currently in dev mode - at dev.multiscale.yale.edu. The faculty member prefers using .svg image files but, from what I can tell, it’s not supported by YaleSites out of the box.

Is there a way to request an override on this function so I can upload/display .svg images?

Thanks in advance for your help,
Steve

Hi Steve,

Could you grant me access to the site? I’ve CAS’d in already, my netid is ad949.

Best,

Alyssa

Hi Alyssa,

You should now have access. Thanks.

Thanks. Are you using an image field for these? As opposed to uploading in the Body field. For image fields, there is a setting where you can set which extensions are allowed - I believe that should do it, though there may be settings elsewhere we’d have to look through.

Thanks, Alyssa. I’m trying to upload via the body field; that would be the preferred method. When I attempt that, it states that it’s invalid extension.

I did try the image field and was able to change the settings to include svg files but that still didn’t work.

Would prefer the upload via body field method if that is possible.

Thanks again for your help.

Hi Steve,

So it seems that it will be best to convert the images to jpeg or .png’s since we don’t support .svg files. It would be a change that would have to be done on the backend by our senior developer, who is currently out, so we’d have to ask him if it’s possible, but I think it’d be best to convert them into .png’s.
