Issue/Request:
My goal is to add a search box that would allow users to search across a specific content type (on our site, Biomedical Databases). I was hoping to do so by enabling and configuring the Custom Search module. However, I have tested the search a few times and it returns the following error:
No Results Found
We cannot connect to the search service at this time. Please try your search again in a few minutes. If the problem persists, please contact us.
Clearly i have not configured it correctly, but i can’t figure out what i need to do next.
Update: i un-checked the “Biomedical Database” content type limits in the search configuration to see if it made a difference… it didn’t.
Dear Andrew:
We’ll look into this.
Best,
Alyssa
Dear Andrew:
I’m not sure how this current search is set up, but I would suggest to add a search filter within the view itself rather than implement a separate search function.
Best,
Alyssa
Thanks, Alyssa. I tried setting it up as a filter, but it’s still not working: http://dev.library.medicine.yale.edu/admin/structure/views/view/biomedic…
Any idea what I might be doing wrong?
I’ll take a look. Could you unlock the view? It says that you’re still editing it so I don’t want to break the lock if you were in the middle of something from yesterday.
I believe that we fixed the problem with the filter in the view. We selected the Title and About this Resource fields in the combine filter settings, and I was able to search for content successfully. Can you confirm? You may need to flush your cache.
Also, we noticed that there are CAPTCHAs enabled in strange places throughout the site, including this view, and those should only be enabled for submissions where the data is logged (such as a webform). Are you still configuring this? If you need any assistance let us know!
