Restict Site Visibility to search engines

Issue/Request:

I have been asked to request a YaleSite for a private conference. The site owners do NOT want the site to be available to the various search engines. Is there a way to do this? Is this something that I need to request when I complete the Request a YaleSite form?

Hi Nancy,

We could edit the robots.txt file so that the site won’t be indexed. Just add a comment to the form that this file should be edited to exclude it from search.
