Issue/Request:
Hello Carris,
We would like to check if you would be available sometimes next week to meet with us at our office. We need your assistance in showing us how to do the feed.
We are trying to connect (or feed) some information from our lab web sites (from each professor’s lab) to our AP department site.
I would appreciate if you could help us.
Thank you so much.
Best regards,
Nuch Graves
Hi, Nuch:
We would love to meet up. I spoke with my manager, Franz Hartl, and he would love to attend along with our Community Liason, Julie Ramaccia. Please send an invitation to the three of us and we will be there. Also, will Owen Miller be there? Will anyone else from your group be there, possibly Harley Pretty? Please let me know.
Thanks,
Carris
Hi Carris,
Thank you for the unprompted discussion today. As I mentioned, the basic idea would be for our Research pages to pull news items from our individual group websites. Ideally,
– The Quantum Information site would get information from http://jianggroup.yale.edu/ and http://rsl.yale.edu/ (and also http://qulab.eng.yale.edu/members_page.html if possible but it looks like that’s not a YaleSite so don’t worry about it).
– the Novel Materials site would get news items from http://ahnlab.yale.edu/ and http://volga.eng.yale.edu/), and
– the Optical Physics site would get news items from http://millergroup.yale.edu/
One feature that would be nice would be to have an option to select whether we want the group News item to get pushed to the department-wide feed, but I view this as optional. It would also be important to be able to publish content directly to this feed, as some faculty have non-YaleSite group homepages.
Any assistance you can provide would be great. Thank you in advance, and I look forward to meeting you (hopefully next week?).
Best,
Owen
Hi, Nuch:
Just wanted to thank you for setting up the meeting on Nov. 18th. I believe that a lot was accomplished. We look forward to working with all of you in the future.
