I would like to create a block similar just like the staff directory on the OIA page (http://world.yale.edu/oia) for this Brazil Ambassadors page (http://world.yale.edu/brazil-ambassadors-yale)

What is the most efficient way to do that?

Thank you!

Hi Isadora,

You would need to create a way to tag the people you are adding and the current staff members so then a new block for the Brazil Ambassadors can be created. To give you a head start, I did the following:

  • Added a People Directory Type field to the People Directory Content Type with Staff and Brazil Ambassadors.
  • Tagged all the current staff members as Staff.
  • Cloned the Staff Directory Block so there is now a Brazil Ambassadors Block.

All you should need to do now is:

  • Add the Brazil Ambassadors people using the Staff Directory Content Type and tag them as Brazil Ambassadors.
  • Put the block on the Brazil Ambassadors page http://world.yale.edu/brazil-ambassadors-yale.
  • Remove the existing content on the page.

That should be fairly straight forward. Let us know if you need more help.

Thanks! I added the Brazil Ambassadors people and tagged them. Now I am having difficulty putting the block on the Brazil Ambassadors page.

I went to Structure > Blocks > View: Staff Directory: Brazil Ambassadors Block and hit Configure. Then I asked for it to show on the brazil-ambassadors-yale page.

However I do not see it. Please advise. Thank you!

Hi, the block wasn’t set to a region and there was a forward slash in the page reference. I removed the forward slash, but didn’t want to set the content region because you already have content there.
