problem embedding video and sound

Issue/Request:

Since the updates to the Yale templates, I have not been able to embed either video or sound in my posts. I have tried all different ways of copying and pasting – using the old way by changing it to the full html and pasting in the code, and also my using the embed icon to paste in the code. It shows up in the yellowed editing section, but when I hit save I lose it. This also happens with the other site I manage – ispshealth.yale.edu

Any suggestions?

Hi Victoria,

Here’s what I know now. When a site is on HTTPS you can’t embed a source using HTTP. That’s why the CVS video wouldn’t display. Sometimes you can just switch it to the https://URL, which I did after testing to see if the CBS New York url worked in a browser after adding the “s” to it. So you’ll need to be mindful of this whenever you want to add an iframe.
