We wanted to add a Yale News feed block to our front page in Drupal 6 here: http://divinity.yale.edu/

I had troubles with the RSS aggregator feed I set up, then I noticed there was a pre-made ‘Yale News feed latest items’ block in my blocks page. So I put that into my Right Sidebar (it’s at the very bottom of the sidebar blocks list) http://divinity.yale.edu/admin/build/block

The block edit page is here: http://divinity.yale.edu/admin/build/block/configure/aggregator/feed-3

The problem is that the block is only visible when I’m logged in, but I didn’t set it to be restricted in any way.

Any ideas?

Hello Campbell,

I can take a look. Can you grant me access?

Josue

Hello Campbell,

I was able to get the feed to show by going to User Management > Permissions and checking off Access News Feed under the Aggregator Module. This should allow all users to see the feed, but only the Administrator can edit or Administer the feed. Let me know if that works.

What an odd setting. I had not idea that was in the system that way.

Thanks! I can see the block on the front page now.

Yeah I found it a bit odd as well but the Feed Aggregator is pretty tricky. You’re welcome.
