People listing help
Chao and Alyssa have previously helped with some changes we have struggled with in changing the people types, categories and names. We continue to experience problems and hope to get some more help. At this point, there are 2 main issues.
First, on the page above, we have two faculty members who are listed twice, for some reason and we cannot figure out why. They are about halfway down, Shiri Goren and Paul North.
The second issue is how to create a new people type and then use that on a faculty member already in the system. For example, we set up “Lector’s” in the people types in configuration but when we then select that people type in the person page edit, nothing happens. Do we have to somehow remove them first and then re-upload?
We also have the problem of duplicate breadcrumbs in the people listings but that’s on a separate forum question…

Hi Bjorn,
The reason the people are shown twice is because under People Type it was label both “Affiliates Faculty” & “Advisory Committee”. This should be only 1 value not two. By checking more than one it will shown more than one the same person.
For Lector, I haven’t see any user was being select as Lector’s. Also, under view settings > Filter criteria you will need to reselect all the new people taxonomy added, in this case is Lector’s. I added Joshua Price to Lector’s type, now you should able to see it in https://dev.judaicstudies.yale.edu/people/lector’s
You will just need to add that link into sidebar menu under People.

Thank you. Unfortunately, the pages still have larger problems. If you look at the old site (https://judaicstudies.yale.edu/people), you’ll see that the dynamic people listing allows for two People Types on the main people page. Paul North, for example, is listed both under affiliates and advisory on that page.
On the DEV site, while these people appear several times in the same people type (but not in two types) on the main people page, they are correctly displaying on the two separate pages: see North appear here: https://dev.judaicstudies.yale.edu/people/affiliates-faculty and he here: https://dev.judaicstudies.yale.edu/people/advisory-committee. But not on the main people page in both people types.
The ability to view people with two roles is critical and we don’t understand why it is working on the old site and not now. We would love to have this resolved once and for all. Can we meet, go over the site and figure out how to deal with this? The client will have a hard time understanding why the dual listings work on the old site and not the new… and we need to resolve it now.

Figured it out, Chao! Under Table–settings, Grouping field Nr.1, I instead selected People Type instead of taxonomy and now it does display people in two places. It’s only taken me about 8-10 hours over the last weeks to find the problem;)
