Need assistance with Yale website link changes in footer

Hi-

I received an E-mail from Yale ITS saying that I should check my websites for links to the old Yale website and update them to the new Yale website links.

I checked and the only places I have links to the main Yale website is in the footer, where I can’t modify anything.  The two places are the Yale logo (which goes to www.yale.edu now) and the Privacy policy (which goes to http://www.yale.edu/privacy-policy).  Per the E-mail I got, these links need to be updated, but I don’t have permissions to do this.

Can you therefore please update these two links for me on both my websites, astronomy.yale.edu and yspa.yale.edu?

Thanks,

Victoria.

Hello Victoria,

In your case there is no need to update the links since they are going to pages that were updated when yale.edu was redesigned. That email was referring to links for subpages of the main yale.edu domain to specific pages. You should be all set.

Hi-

Just to be certain, when I clicked on the attachment with new links that needed to be updated it had http://yale.edu/index.html and http://www.yale.edu/privacy.html listed as new URLs.

The link to the Yale home page that is currently on my sites has the www, whereas the new link does not.  Will this be an issue?

Victoria.

It will be fine. Those links have already been updated and redirects done in the new yale.edu redesign. If there are any needs to update them that will happen on our end since you are using the standard template, we would fix that when we update the codebase. Those links would only affect sites with custom code/templates.

OK sounds good, thanks.
