Issue/Request:

I have activated the meta tag module and am trying to use it to prevent people from finding this page as easily. It does not seem to save my selections.

There is another page at http://star.physics.yale.edu/johnharris/ which we would like to have search engines find first.

Thank you,
Daphne

Hi Daphne,

I am looking into your issue, I will get beck to you.

Thanks,

Hi Daphne,

The issue is your Meta tags “Global” and “Global: Front page” operation was overriding, it should be revert. I just revert Global: Front page for you. You can configure your Meta tags by Modules>> Meta tags - Configure >> Global>> Click override- give it description and page Title ….>>Save.

About your second “search engine find first” question, if you are looking for yale.edu search result it is already searchable, and if you are looking for google.com search engine that we don’t have any control, because it is base on Google search and SEO.

Thanks,

I need to be able to adjust the meta tags on a specific page, http://physics.yale.edu/people/karsten-heeger the faculty member would like web searches to ignore this page and find http://wlab.yale.edu/karsten-heeger first.

Thank you,
Daphne

You can use redirect your specific page rather than using Meta tags.

Would this mean that the Physics department page would not show up at all? We don’t want that they just want the Wright Lab page to come up first in searches.

Daphne

Hi Daphne,

We are continuing to research the issue you are having with the Meta Tags module.  We have placed a request for the module to updated to the newest version and will continue to troubleshoot your issue once the update has been completed (such updates are generally completed on Tuesday and Thursday evenings - we hope to have the change completed with tonight’s batch, but will provide an update upon completion).

Thanks,

Hi Daphne,

Your Meta tags module has been updated, now your changes has been saved. Because there was so much update and change at the same time you should be verify any other additional Mata tags configuration.

The next time when the Google crawler parses the site it will see the Meta tag and update the internal Google index. This process it could take probably to 30 days.

Thanks,

Marwa thank you for all your help. Daphne

You are most welcome, glad to help.
