Linking taxonomy terms to external sites via a view

I would greatly appreciate it if this question can be answered today, Thursday, August 23, 2018. I am working in a view. I need the taxonomy terms in an exposed dropdown menu to link to external sites. Right now, when the terms have been selected from the drop down menu, they to go the display page. I also created a block in hopes of bypassing having a display page but then the terms are listed and are not in a drop down menu. This is the first time I’ve had to build something like this and have it link to an external site, any help would be greatly appreciated!!
