Homepage Sidebar

Hello,

A group of us are currently updating the website and reworking a few different pages. During the edits, the sidebar that was on the righthand side of the homepage disappeared (we were deleting quite a few things at the time and think it was mistakenly deleted). I am under the impression that it was a type of view, but am unsure of how to get that back. We just want it to be able to post events on the homepage rather than clumping them into the news feed. Is there a way to place a block on the homepage or does that interfere with the homepage banner?

Please let me know how we can get this back, we have a particular event coming up that we need to have back on the homepage.

Thank you in advance!

Meghan

Hello Meghan,

Unfortunately there is no way to revert back if a block was deleted. You can check to see if it was just disabled by going to Site Building > Blocks. This will show you a list of existing blocks. I do see an Upcoming block that is disabled. That would most likely be a block of the upcoming events. You can enable that to the homepage if you’d like.

Josue

Hi Josue,

So is there no way to create that sidebar again? I am not sure if it was a block or a view (or something else). But it was a yellow sidebar on our homepage. This was initially used to feature Spotlights, but we have adapted it to post about one particular event that is next week.

We’re just looking to place another sidebar on the homepage (one that does not interfere with the image).

Thanks,

Meghan

Hi Meghan,

You can create a block and put it in the right sidebar. We just can’t restore a block that was deleted, if indeed it was deleted.

Ok, thank you, Nancy. I was concerned that the right-hand sidebar would interfere with the homepage banner. I will give it another try.

Thanks again!

Meghan
