I work with the Yale and the World site (world.yale.edu) and I recently noticed that when you search the Yale and the World site on Google, the text that accompanies the result is from one of our photo gallery captions (and the Yale India Initiative). We’d like to tailor it to our overall site’s purpose and resources. How can I go about fixing this?

Hello Isadora,
You can use the same module we used to hide the taxonomy pages. The Module is called Meta Tags. You can add a description by going to Configuration > Search and metadata > Meta tags. Under Global, select Override. There fill in the Description field and it should update for the whole site. Again it might take a few days to a few weeks before Google will index the change, but at least it will change the description once the site has been reindexed.

Thanks Josue, your feedback was very helpful. I’d also like to alter the text for a few of the pages… The tabs (that run across the red line on the main page) and the “About Yale” section. How do I go about doing that?
