Dear YaleSites Forum,

I would like to embed a google map in my right side block (under the “Contact Us” info) on my homepage but I can’t seem to figure out how to do it. I went to the support forum and found instructions (http://yalesites.yale.edu/book/embedding-google-map) but there is no “link” button in google maps. Is there another way to do this?

Thanks for your help,
Michelle

Hello Michelle,

Since the creation of that tutorial, Google has updated their Google Maps interface. I have not had a chance to update the tutorial. I apologize. In the new interface you will find a gear in the bottom right of the screen next to the question mark. It will give you a Share or Ember Map option you can select. Once you select that it will give you a popup with the option to Embed Map which contains the link you will place in your Drupal site. Make sure you select Full HTML in your format or else the map wont show.

Hi Josue,

Thanks so much for your quick response.  I followed your instructions in Google Maps and I was able to get the link.  I copied the full HTML (<iframe src=”https://www.google.com/maps/embed?pb=!1m18!1m12!1m3!1d2996.602553423992!… width=”600” height=”450” frameborder=”0” style=”border:0”></iframe>) and pasted it in my block but the link just shows and not the map.  Let me know what I’m doing wrong.

Thanks!
Michelle

Hi Michelle,

You have to switch the text editor to full HTML, then paste the code there. Can you grant me access to your site so that I can look at how you have it setup?

Josue

Perfect, thanks so much for all your help Josue!
