we recently enabled Google analytics. Is there any additional value in enabling the Drupal statistics module - i.e. will it provide any additional type of data the GA doesn’t? we are particularly interested in seeing how often some of our resource materials are views, where they are viewed from, are they viewed multiple times, etc.

Is there a performance penalty associated with the statistics module if logging and page counts are enabled?

Hello Ed,

The Drupal Statistics Module does not add any value to your site as configured. It would require cashing to to be turned off as well as a bunch of other factors. You are better off using Google Analytics for you Statistics & Reporting. You can always create custom filters and views to configure your data. If you need help with that, I’m the technical lead for Google Analytics at ITS so we can schedule some time to discuss your requirements.
