Garbled layout in IE

We’re getting menu text jammed together in the upper right corner of the Berkeley Divinity School website when viewed in IE. Look at the red text that starts with “Events”. I don’t see the same problem in other browsers.

Screen grab attached.

Hi Brock,

I’m able to see the menu text in the upper right corner display correctly in IE. I wonder if you need to clear your browser cache, or flush all caches on the site? This sounds similar to the issue we had with divinity webforms in IE. Vincent had added a line of code that would force a site to use the latest rendering mode. Would you mind trying that, or let me know if you already have, when you have a moment?

If that’s not the issue I will escalate this to Vincent.

Best regards,

Chris

Chris,

I flushed all the caches a few times. I didn’t run any updates on the site. I refreshed my IE a few times, but still see the red menu text smushed together. I tried two other coworker computers that hadn’t been on the site and both show the text smushed together so I don’t think it’s fixed for IE at this point.

Hi Brock,

Apologies for the delayed response. I still cannot replicate what you’re seeing. Are you still seeing the red menu text smushed together? Vincent had updated code to remedy a similar issue you were having with forms on divinity.yale.edu so I wondered if it helped here. Please let me know when you have a moment.

Kind regards,

Chris

Hi Chris,

As of right this minute, yes I’m still seeing the smushed together red text at the top right corner of this page: http://berkeleydivinity.yale.edu/

I’ve refreshed my IE a few times now and went in and cleared the history and cookies, but no change. I just now checked on another employee’s IE on their PC and it shows the same smushed together text.

Thank you for following up on this.

Hi Brock,

I’ll speak with Vincent about this when he’s back in the office on Tuesday. Every emulation mode I’ve tried looks good on my machine, so I don’t think it’s the same issue you had with IE regarding webforms on the divinity site.

I’ll be in touch.

Best,

Chris
