Formatting Questions
Hello,
I’m not responsible for the entire Chemistry site, only the Undergraduate portion.
I’m requesting help with the following items and although I’m requesting office hours I can also meet over the phone. Whatever you think is best is fine with me.
1. Under Academic tab –> Undergraduate Home –> Course Taken Elsewhere: the links in this page go to pages which are formatted completely differently and I would like to fix this but don’t know how.
2. Under Academic tab –> Undergraduate Home –> Undergraduate Teaching Laboratories: this is a view. I’m not too familiar with views and would like to learn how to edit information in a view. I would also like to add a block under the view with Laboratory Safety information and I don’t know how.
Thank you for your time and for your help.
Sincerely, Laura DeMonte
Hi Laura;
I have the block set up on the Undergraduate Teaching Staff page for the Laboratory Safety Information. I just put that title in and the word ‘test’ in the body. Of course you can change that to whatever you want.
I am still looking for an answer to adding a page title of Undergraduate Teaching Laboratories above the present title of Undergraduate Teaching Staff. I will let you know when I get that resolved.
It was so nice to speak with you today. I hope that I answered all your website needs.
Regards,
Carris Toupin
Hi Laura;
I believe that I solved the titling problem on the Undergrad Teaching Laboratories/Staff page, http://dev.chem.yale.edu/people/undergraduate-teaching-staff, take a look and see if this format works for you.
How I did it:
I changed the name of the original title to Undergrad Teaching Staff in the view by using rewrite results and tokens on the people type field. Then I added a block above the view and used the body text to insert the title of Undergrad Teaching Laboratories.
Please take a look and let me know if these changes solve the issues above.
Regards,
The issue is resolved! Thank you so much for taking the time to help with this problem.
Hi Laura;
It was an absolute pleasure working with you. Please let us know, via the Forum, if you need anything else.
Best Regards,
