Flex Slider image quality and caption

Hi, we’re continuing to struggle with setting up the Publications block on our home page. We originally set it up as a slideshow but have trouble getting to be randomized. So we tried the Flex Slider only to find that it sets the image at full block width and whatever we do, it’s not changing size. Somewhere we thought we’d seen a selector for image quality. The other issue with the slider is that we seem to only be able to use one text field as a caption, i.e. book title or author name, but not both. Please let us know if there’s anything we can do differently. For some reason, these settings are hard to figure out…

Thank you for your help!

Hi, just following up on this as we haven’t heard anything back.

Is this resolve since the slideshow now is random order?

I think it’s better. Funny thing is that in views, whatever we set the size of the image in fields, it stays the same. No matter what. We’d like a bigger, responsive image, but we seem unable to make that happen.

The client has a question about the random order of the homepage publication feed. Right now it’s randomizing from all publications in the regular bookshelf listing. But is there a way to randomize from a date range, i.e. present day and 3 years back? That way we could get only the random order of most recently published books.

Random orders is random shuffling. If we change to date range it will not be random it will be custom sorting. Bascically date range from newest - oldest.
