Feeds Importer Duplicate entries

Hello,

I used Feeds Importer to import records from a CSV file. I only wanted the import to occur once. After I imported, there was only one copy of each record. The next day, each record had been duplicated, so I’m guessing that they were reimported. I had set “Periodic Import” to “Off”, so I’m not sure why this is happening. When I go to http://fesxfunds/import/funding, it says that it is currently importing and is 64% complete.

I know that an easy fix would be to delete the csv file from the remote server, but I don’t want to fill up the error log with messages when it can’t locate the CSV. I also don’t want to delete the importer, in case I need it in the future.

Thanks,
-Ben

Hello Ben,

How many items are in the CSV file? It could be that the file is so big its taking time to import. Another issue I saw was that you don’t seem to have a unique identifier, which is what makes each node imported as unique and removes duplicates.

Hi Josue,

There are 380 rows in the CSV. When I do the import manually, it completes in about 20 seconds. After I do the first manual import, there are no duplicates, it is only after about a day, that it seems to import everything again, which I don’t want it to do. I just want to import once manually.

Thanks,
Ben

Ok the best option would be to disable the feed importer. Let me take a look.

Hello Ben,

I’ve removed the duplicates and disabled the feed importer. You should be all set now.

Hi Josue,

In my first post, I mentioned that I did not want to delete the importer, in case I needed it again. I just found out this morning that there was a problem with the data I imported and need to re-import.

Hello Ben,

The importer is not deleted. Its just disabled. All you have to do is go to Structure > Feed Importers and enable the imported for it to be available again. The reason its best to disable it is to prevent the periodic import.

Sorry, Josue. I just panicked for a second. Thanks for your help.

No prob. Glad to help.
