Exhibitions View Discrepancy

Hello YaleSites Team,

We have an inconsistency in the longer exhibition titles in the “past exhibitions” view. The following exhibitions titles run on past the end of the image and we would like to create a line-break at the end of the right corner of the image or as represented below.

Enlightened Princesses: Caroline, Augusta, Charlotte, and
the Shaping of the Modern World

On view at the Yale University Art Gallery |
The Critique of Reason: Romantic Art, 1760–1860

This issue was resolved for the following exhibition, Modernism and Memory: Rhoda Pritzker and the Art of Collecting (located in the same view), but it looks like this adjustment was not applied to all current, future, and past exhibitions. If it is possible to amend the title display for all exhibitions featured within views, your efforts would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,
Ronnie

Hi Ronnie,

The exhibitions are formatted as a grid (table) and that is why the titles run past the edge for the images that have no content in the right hand column of the table. This cannot be fixed properly with the present layout, even with CSS. Our suggestion is to consider other layouts, as grids and tables with images present challenges for layout, responsiveness and accessibility.

Best regards,

Carris
