I would like for the event page images for each month on the calendar to display the same way . No wrapping of talk tile around the image, and for images to display the same size in al the browsers.

Hi Susanna,
I’m going to continue working on this issue today, as we discussed during your previous support call. I’ll update you here when I make progress.
Best,

Hi Susanna,
I had a colleague look into this and we’ve come to this conclusion:
The event listing view(s) for upcoming, day, week, and month are not meant to accommodate a text description, so text descriptions of a certain length were encroaching on the event image’s real-estate and causing it to shrink. There are a few options for making this work. You could get rid of the description field in these views entirely, and make the full description only visible when you click to view the event. You could modify all of the event descriptions to severely reduce their length (it would need to be a 100 character limit, so this isn’t a great solution). Or, you could create an additional, 100-character-or-less description for each event that displays on these views and succinctly describes the event, but allow the site user to view the full-length description on the event page.
I’d be happy to explain this to you over the phone if this description isn’t entirely helpful. Let me know how you’d like to proceed.

Hi Susanna,
Per our phone conversation yesterday, I’ve successfully updated all of the calendar/upcoming events views to have a uniform format. I also added the event dates to the “What’s Happening in DS” block on the front page.
As for your question about changing the amount of events displayed in the block, the current setting is to display 5 elements. However, there are only 3 upcoming events, so if more are added they should show up in that area.
If you want to change the criteria for what appears in this block, here’s how you can do it:
click the “gear” in the corner of the block and select “edit view”
Under the section “filter criteria” there is a section beginning with “date:”. This is a contextual filter for what event dates will be published on this block. Click this filter to view the filter settings.
The current setting is “greater than or equal to” and “now”, meaning that the block will display any events on current or future dates. You can change this, if you are so inclined, but the current settings seem to make sense for the purpose of this block.
you can also change the amount of elements that will appear in the block by returning to the “edit view” menu and doing the following:
Under the “Pager” section, click “5 items”.
Here, you can change both the total amount of items to display in this field (currently set to 5) and the offset (how many items are skipped, starting from the beginning of the events specified by the filter criteria; currently set to zero)
Keep in mind that displaying an excessive amount of items in this space will defeat the purpose of using a block to display information that can be viewed in full elsewhere on the site, and might increase page length an inordinate amount. Just use your best judgment, and keep the site user’s experience in mind when deciding how many items to display!
Let me know if you need clarification on any of these instructions. As always, I’m happy to assist you by phone if needed.
