entity reference question

I have a content type called module (unfortunate but that’s what the faculty wanted) and another called Library Item. I’ve managed to create views that associate Library Items with the module. Users can add library items from within the content type module. However, I need to be able to let users also choose from previously uploaded library items. This one is the stickler. I would like to meet with someone to get over this last obstacle.
