Deleting old files so they don’t show up in google searches

Hi,

I’m trying to delete old CVs that I’ve replaced on my faculty pages.  All the files that I upload through the link>URL upload are available for me to easily delete, but any files that I uploaded in the People type are nowhere to be found.  Am I missing something easy, can you help?
