Default Image Issue

Hi,

I discovered an issue we are having with at least two of our sites (Senior Class Gift and Development Council). It appears that the default images are no longer visible. They seem to have been erased from the content type. I re-added the default image yesterday to SCG and it has disappeared once again. Please advise.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. The issue appears on the SCG Team page on the Senior class gift website (https://scg.yale.edu/scg-team) and on the Membership Biographies & Directories on the Development Council site (https://devcouncil.yale.edu/member-biographies-directory). There is another issue with the SCG Team page which I posted on YaleSite forum separately.

Can you please describe what happens: Where are you uploading the image, is it in the text editor of the page or is there an image field? Does the image display then disappear or does it never display? Did you only notice it after switching to Maintenance Mode?

I am uploading the image into the SCG Team content type, specifically the student photo field (field type: image cropped). The image intially appeared when I uploaded it as the default image first on Sunday and then again yesterday. It appears that the image disappeared overnight in both cases. I have been making all of these changes in maintenance mode. I am not sure if there were any default images prior to putting the site in maintenance mode.

Hmm, I created a page called “test” of type SCG Team and uploaded an image that is displaying. What was the last page that you edited where this occurred?

The content I created is in three views on the SCG Team page. The default images displayed in the views last night but were not there this morning. This is the only page that included any default images. I was hoping to add them to the events content type too.

Is it possible that the images were removed by another editor? I can’t find anything that would cause this issue, and I uploaded a couple to the student pages to make sure they displayed (I have since removed them)

No one else has been working on the site. The images I uploaded for individual test events are working fine. The default images in the content type were the only ones causing me an issue. Below is a screenshot of where I was uploading the default image for the SCG Team content type. I was hoping to set up a default image so if the individual uploading content to the site does not have an image for a student it would automatically populate with the default image.

Hi Devin,

Instead of editing the Field Type, try editing the image field itself to see if that makes any difference. I uploaded a test one in there which seems to be working.

I believe that is what I did the first time I uploaded the file but I will try again and see if the image still appears tomorrow morning. I will let you know if there is still an issue tomorrow.

I just checked the SCG website to see if the default images that you uploaded still appear on the site and unfortunately they have once again disappeared. They are not visible on the SCG Team page nor in the default image field in which the image was uploaded.

Hi Devin,

This is probably due to the site being in maintenance mode. If you remove that the images should display.
