Access for edit link in view

i set up a view that has an edit link (which takes a user directly to that piece of content to be edited).  a person who is set up as an editor isn’t able to see that edit link; is there a way to change this so they could?

Check to see if the permissions for that content type allow them to edit. If not, they won’t see the link. Does that make sense?
