accents in names

I need to figure out why an accent mark (diacritical mark) in a name eliminates that letter in the URL

The URL above should be people/gerard-padro-i-miquel - with an “o” at the end of padro.

But with an accent on the “o” on the name (Padró) in the Username field, the “o” is deleted from the URL.

Any advice would be appreciated.

When I add Garard Padró i Miquel to my personal development site the “o” was not lost in the url. Check it out.

The rest doesn’t match your page because I just wanted to see what happened with the “o”.

If you’d like, I can remove all the redirects it looks like someone created and remove him just long enough to reenter the info and recreate the user display. But I dont want to do that on the live site without permission. I noticed Garard isn’t on the dev site.
