Creating a searchable database

I am the Student Research Assistant to the Yale College Environmental Studies program. I have put together a collection of opportunities for undergraduate EVST majors in a large Excel spreadsheet and hope to make it publicly accessible and searchable on the Environmental Studies website (much like what the School of Forestry has done here: https://fesxfunds.yale.edu/funding).  My advisor and I have so far been unable to figure out how to do this.

I looked through the FES site and the database is a content type with multiple fields and a view with filters for each of those fields. So you would need a new content type with the fields for the information that you need, then create a view for that content type and add exposed filters for the fields that you want users to search by.
