New Site, Came with WEb Property ID, Need to set Up Google Analytics

I went to set up analytics for this site by starting with Google Analytics, and got a code, only to find out when I went to the site that there was already a Web Property ID there. So now I need to know how to set up the analytics on the Google side when there is already an existing code.

Hi Heather,

I took a look at the site and it appears that the google analytics module is not enabled. Do you want me to enable the module?

I also want to make sure I understand what you described in your post. It sounds like you’re saying that you tried to register the site on a new analytics account, and analytics wouldn’t let you add the site as a property because it was associated with another account. Is that accurate?

If the above is true, then there is likely a previous site owner who created—and still owns— the analytics account associated with your site. Since it doesn’t appear that ITS was granted access to this account, we would be unable to determine who that individual is. However, please let me know if my understanding of the situation is correct so I can see what help we’re able to provide in tracking this down.

Sorry about that - I must have been looking at another one of my sites (??) I went in enabled it and added the UA code - I’m all set!
