I’m trying to find a decent way to list our lab members’ bios with a headshot next to them. The text editor doesn’t seem to like text wrapping, so the only solution I’ve found is to use a table. Is there any way to format the table more than the stock layout? I’ve also noticed that header fonts aren’t blue (they’re black, despite displaying as blue in the text editor). This is all minor, but curious if there was something I’m missing.

Hi Joshua,

I’ve just had a look at your forum request and website http://dev.xiong.yale.edu.

I can help you set up a lab members page using the people listing feature. This will allow you to add people to your site using their NetID. Their profile from the HR database will automatically populate to a User Profile within the site. You can add or hide fields, like bios, and sort them to display as you choose. The table layout may still be best, but you will have more flexibility, and your images will be added in an image field that is easier to maneuver, since it is not embedded in a text field with a WYSIWYG toolbar. Once the view is configured, it will be easier to add additional members as new ones arrive. It will also be more responsive on mobile devices.

Your adorable canine and feline support staff will need their own pages, but that can be easily done.

Here is a link on how to set it up, but I’m happy to meet with you to walk through it if that helps, as it isn’t always intuitive. http://yalesites.yale.edu/book/people-listing-feature

I’ve enabled the Yale People Listing, Yale Courses, and Yale Publications modules to start.

You can reach me at 203-436-3999 to arrange for office hours.

Please leave a number where you can be reached as I didn’t see one in the directory.

Kind regards,

Hi Joshua,

I’m just following up with you to see if you received my note from Sept. 6th. Do you still need assistance with your lab members listing?

Please let me know when you have a moment so I can close out the ticket if you no longer need assistance.

Many thanks,

Chris Mongillo
