Inserted blocks with search filters on a node page
I’ve inserted three blocks (all generated by a view which was cloned from a working version: http://dev.jo.yale.edu/all-experts, please DO NOT modify this specific view on the ‘all-experts’ page) into a node page, see ‘experts-block’ page. The ‘search by…’ filters are autofill search fields. This field for each of the three blocks works/displays slightly different from one another.
The search filter under the ‘Science’ heading/block is the filter that is having the most trouble. The field is not autofilling to show the user what options are available as they type (which is how the two blocks above are working). The two taxonomy terms that are available to search in that field are: Genomics of Model Organisms, Medical Genetics.
The search filter for ‘Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences’ seems to list ALL taxonomy terms instead of just those associated to ‘Arts…’.
It seems that only the filter for ‘Medical Experts’ is working properly, from what I can tell.
I know there’s a lot going on in this post and on the page. Any insight is greatly appreciated!
Hi JoAnn,
I am looking into your request. I will get back to you as soon as I have some news.
Best regards,
Carris
Hi JoAnn,
It looks like you picked the wrong field for an exposed filter for the Science block. I added the Research Areas of Expertise exposed filter and you can get the choices you want with that filter. You can rename it and remove the one that doesn’t work.
I will get back to you on the other view, but I suspect it is the same situation. The wrong field was picked for an exposed filter in the Filter Criteria area.
Best regards,
Carris
Hi JoAnn,
In order for me to see what can be changed in the Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences block, I would need to know what items are suppose to show up in the exposed filter. Perhaps the exposed filter is for the wrong field or perhaps a field that has the information you want to display is not built/available. Let me know if you want me to continue to work on this or if you are going to look at it.
Best regards,
Carris
Hi JoAnn,
As best as I can tell, it looks like the filter drop down for Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences block, seems to be working fine. Let me know if something is still wrong with it, otherwise I will consider this posting resolved.
Best regards,
Carris
