Export/Import and Entity Reference Crossreference

Issue/Request:

I would like to export data from one content type to a new content type which will require importing to an entity reference field (perhaps Feeds can work with this, but another module may be needed). I would then like to cross-link (synchronize) entity reference fields between content types, e.g., an author to a journal article. Another way to do this would be to create a filtered view that would only show a particular authors work on his/her author page.
