‘On Behalf Of’ in Email From on Form submission

Greetings,

I am writing today on behalf of Sandra Malan-Bowles, Program Manager at Whitney Humanities Center.

Sandra has reported the following problem to me.

In a webform, WHC has defined E-mails.  For the email sent to the person submitting the form,  the ‘E-mail from address’ is set to a custom value (Figure 1). 

In the actual email sent to the user, the From line appears as follows:

sandra.malan-bowles@yale.edu; on behalf of; Whitney Humanities Center <Letitia.Charles@yale.edu>

The expectation is that the From line appears as:

Whitney Humanities Center <Letitia.Charles@yale.edu>

From my research on Drupal.org, it appears that this is a known issue.

Other people facing this problem have implemented custom code as a work-around.  The issue is tracked here https://www.drupal.org/node/461324.

(One person in this thread suggests using this module to solve to problem - https://www.drupal.org/project/mail_headers.  This module is not provided in YaleSites, and I do not have experience with it.)

Before we take the path of implementing custom code, I thought I’d post this issue in the forum to see if Yale ITS has come across this before and has a preferred mitigation.
