Editor can’t edit People/Faculty

I added in a student worker as an editor her: http://divinity.yale.edu/people/julia-johnson

I thought, I gave her all the proper edit abilities for Faculty/People entries, but she can’t access the faculty profiles to edit them. She doesn’t get an edit tab for those profiles.

I went through the settings to make sure that all the Faculty areas were editorial areas, but we still couldn’t get her access to edit the profiles.

Hello Campbell,

Technically that is considered administering users, which is only done by the administrator role. If you want them to administer users, you’d have to make them admin.

Ok that makes sense.

I think it points to an overlooked problem in the workflow of many offices that use student workers.

Using the “people” module to auto-populate information into staff and faculty lists is nice, but it now requires only admins to edit the information. If possible, in moving forward with new Drupal sites, we should discuss possible alternatives.
