Translations

Issue/Request:
I would like to explore options for translating a few pages of the Commencement website (particularly the FAQ page) into 2 or three different languages. Does Drupal have a module or tool for managing translated content? Ultimately, I’d like to know if it’s possible for a user to simply choose the language they’d like to display on the page rather than building a new separate page with translated content.
Thank you!

Hi Liz,
I know we talked on the phone a few weeks ago but wanted to document the discussion for others looking for this type of solution. While Drupal does have a translation feature, it doesn’t translate entire sites automatically. What it does is provide an interface so that translations can happen more easily by providing tabs that organize the various translations. You are still creating an individual page, but it’s associated with the page in the original site language (English) so it’s easier to organize. We have only used this for one site so far because it’s a full bilingual website. But for your needs, since you only want some pages translated, it seems like it would be easier to create those pages in the different languages and link to them.
I hope this helps.
