Adding different categories of People Type

Hi YaleSites,
How can we sub-classify People Types on the People page? I have introduced new People Types already (Principal Investigator instead of Faculty) and have successfully listed the Principal Investigator on the website. However, I would like to sub-classify Alumni into three categories. I would like Alumni to have the following 3 subclasses: Postdoctoral, Graduate, Undergraduate.
How can I incorporate those 3 subclasses under the Alumni People Type?

It is not possible to create sub-categories for people type. What other people do is create the people types all at the same layer.
