I need to have the news stories that appear on our front page be in a specific order. How do I do this? I tried to do this by adding the stories in the order I want them to appear and then by changing the publish date and authoring date and this doesn’t work. In the field criteria section of the view for this page - “Content-sticky(no) is selected, so I went and stickied everything that I don’t want on the front page and that helped, but I have an article showing there that doesn’t belong and the 3rd story I do want there won’t show.

Here is what I want on the page and in the order I’d like it to be:

Panel Discusses Syrian Refugee Crisis (currently not showing)

Slaughter on the Strategy of Connection

Will Africa Feed China?

Director’s Letter

the page I am referring to is http://dev.newsletter.macmillan.yale.edu/newsletter/fall-2015

Let me know if I can provide more information.

I also need to have the news items in the left sidebar appear in a custom order as well.

For ease of doing this now and for future newsletters, is there a way to assign a number in a field on the news item that correlates to the “stacking” order? The only difference/problem with this is that I need to have the Director’s letter appear as the last news item on the front page and as the last story on the sidebar listing of news items.

ok. so I’ve gone ahead and added nodequeue and still I can’t get the front page to work as I’d like it to. I removed the “publish to front page” and “sticky on top” checks for the pages and have tried to set/find the nodequeue info in the view but haven’t been able to.
