Securing word docs and pdfs

hi,

i need a way to secure access to word documents or pdfs that are loaded onto this site.  For example, if I set a part of my website to require CAS log in and I load a policy document (word or pdf) that I only want certain CAS people to be able to view/download, how do I go about that?
