menu and highlights
Hello,
I’m a faculty member in the History of Science, History of Medicine (HSHM) program, and I’ve been working with Denise Scott on a new website. It’s currently at dev.hshm.yale.edu
Earlier this week we both submitted questions to the forum and haven’t heard anything back. There are two glitches that we cannot seem to solve.
1: Our “People” page is working great, except that when you click on anyone’s profile, the left-hand menu disappears. This is odd, since the menu block is currently configured to appear on “all pages except those listed,” and we have no exceptions listed. Please note that we do not want to solve this problem by having the menu start at the 1st level or by using the special “people menu block”; right now everything is configured exactly as we want it.
2: On our front page we have a “Highlights” slideshow of images. But we want this to behave exactly like the “Recent Publications” slideshow on the History site (history.yale.edu) – there should be captions, the rhythm should not match the rhythm of the main banner images, and we don’t want the blue arrows or dots. I’ve talked with the History admin, and it looks like they have an option for “Slideshow” that we don’t have; we’re currently using “FlexSlider.” Hopefully this is easy to fix, perhaps by activating a module that we don’t yet have?
We need to have these problems fixed soon, so that our faculty can approve the new website at our next (and final) meeting on May 11th.
many thanks for your help!
Bill
