Anonymous webform submission pulled into a view
I’ve created a view: http://dev.img.yale.edu/image-submissions that should pull webform submissions into it. The webform can be found here: http://dev.img.yale.edu/image-submissions/new-image-submission-form. The webform is going to be submitted by an ‘anonymous’ user and the information from it will be pulled into the ‘Image Submissions’ view page. What is happening is this: when i fully log out of CAS and fill out the form to test it, the submitted information is not appearing on the Image Submissions page. I’ve found that in order to have the anonymous webform submission appear on the Image Submissions page is to log back into the site. I’m sure there is something small that I’m missing to get the view to recognize the anonymous webform submissions. Please let me know exactly what it is that I’m missing here.
As always, thank you very much for your help!!
Hello JoAnn,
Can you grant me access to the site so I can take a look?
Josue
You now have admin access. I’ll be interested to see what this is! =)
I’ve continued to test how the created webform is being consumed or not by the view. I am 99.99% sure the view is constructed correctly. I am now wondering if this could have anything to do with permissions? I am not sure what else could be causing the anonymously submitted webform only to be viewed when one is logged in. Here is a question, would the ‘anonymous user’ still have to log in via CAS? The purpose of the webform is strictly for the university photographer to use. This website is not going to be publicly available is it only for the use of the folks in OPAC.
Looking forward to hearing back from you.
Hi JoAnn,
I believe you are on the right track. It must be a permissions issue. I will double check that with Vincent to see if that’s the case.
Josue
Thanks, Josue!
By any chance did you make any changes to the view yesterday? Please let me know.
No the view was showing as locked by you. I just looked at the settings and then took at look at the permissions. Everything seemed in order with the view and permissions. Other than the fact that maybe the permissions might need to be tweaked to allow anonymous to see the view or results. I’ll check with Vin to get his opinion.

Hello JoAnn,
I checked with Vincent, it seems that the page is cached. One way of resolving it might be to use rules to flush the page cache after the webform submission. I believe theres a module that might help but not sure as to the status of the module. I can check.
Josue
Thank you! I just had someone in my office do a test on what we discussed offline. Yes, the anonymous user HAS to log in. Caching didn’t seem to be the issue because the submission was viewable immediately after it was submitted.
Have a great day! =)
Hold on. There still might be a problem. Don’t close this out just yet. Let me take a closer look. I’ll be back.
Josue, yes, please check on the cache module you had mentioned in your recent post. Depending on the browser, the submission is or isn’t being made available. Please let me know.
Thanks again!
Hi, I was wondering if anyone ever asked about the ‘cache’ module for me? It would be great if someone would follow up with me.
Thanks!
Hello JoAnn,
So after looking into the Cache module, we found that it wasn’t properly maintained. I tried configuring the rules to refresh the cache for that view page but it doesn’t seem to work even though the rule is firing. We’re still looking into the rules method to refresh your cache so the view works. I’ll keep you posted
Josue
Thanks so much! I’ll wait to hear back from you.
Have a nice evening!
Hello JoAnn,
We made some teaks to the rule and it seems to be working now. Can you run some tests to see if its working on your end?
Josue
Hi Josue,
I just logged in as dpl2 and submitted two tests. I checked to see if the submissions were added to the ‘image submissions’ page on 3 different browsers (2 of them I was not logged in and 1 I was) and the submissions were there so it seems to be working. Thank you and please give my thanks to Vincent as well.
As always, great job!!
Have a good day!
Jo
You’re welcome. Glad to help.
